Long time

Hello everyone. It has been a long time since I last post on here becasue of being ill and unfortnatly not being able to get out. Now hopefully fully recovered after another period out I have been running and was really good to get back on the road. One still unanwsred question is why is it that people running always seem to get abuse, only becasue they cannot keep up and they are in there cars? Silly people come and join us and you will soon realise that we have the right idea!

Day 2.

Well the day start off pretty well woke up and all was well, nothing hurt which was a good sign! Headed off into Uni, and thought I would make the most of my hours gap between lectures so did the sensible thing and went to the gym, this was an interesting experinece for several reasons, 1, i had forgotten just how small the gym and uni was, 2, 2k on an erg wow...I used to be good and them errr just no. So one down weights done lets give it another go, things improved but still a minuet slower than my previous best, need to get on it.

Went home and after doing some work and deliberating with my house mates as to weather to go food shopping or not i decided it was time for a run so off I went. This was nice a good 4 miler nice and easy, felt good ready for the challanges that lie ahead tomorrow.

Dave is still going well in his DecaIronman but reports are coming in that it is very hot so it must be incredible hard, go dave!

First day of training

After recently recovering from an injury and getting back into things again today has been the first day of 'proper' training for a while; it was enjoyable and went smoothly so there will be much more to come. Went out for a ride on the road bike 20miles was good, started raining about 10miles in though so I got throughly soaked all that same was good, going fairly quickly although have discovered slight problems with the gears (new bike so the cables are still streaching in so hopefully this will get sorted when it gets serviced).

To follow this up I got on my old bike and rode to the pool for the first swim in about 7 weeks this was good not as fast as I was but this will come back with time, technique needs some major work on still hopefully this can get sorted out. A good swim all the same. 400m warm up, 4x200 and 1500 cool down, and then the cycle home.

To finish the day off throw in a bit of core. 

Dave Clamp is still going strong in his DecaIronman challange, this is an incredible performance and desrves to be recognised by one and all. He has gone a long way but there is still alot of ground that needs to be covered. Keep going dave, never give in!

You say its impossible we say its inevitable!!

Hello.

This is the first blog entry of many. The aim of this is to keep myself motivated to train and to inform everyone of what I am trying to achive. After running for a few years and getting into cycling I have decided that in the summer of 2011 I will either be doing an ironman 70.3 or an ultra marathon.
